DESCRiPTiON:
Looking for a unique internship experience? Do you want to work with highly creative, non-traditional, professional, energetic co-workers based in Hollywood? Can you research, write and hustle while learning the fundamental mission, structure, and operations associated with a particular environment? We are seeking: A college or graduate student (Education, Communications, Marketing, Business or Journalism majors preferred), based in LA, approx. 16-20 hours a week, will need to be in the office in the beginning to start, but possible (not guaranteed) that you can manage tasks virtually. An energetic and fun person is a MUST! Tell us youre proficient on Mac computers and well throw confetti. College credit is available.
Contribute to the mission of helping young people get excited about writing, reading and telling their story. Work, collaborate and laugh with our small and VERY committed staff. We see ourselves as both the bricklayers and architects in the building of this company and brand, and we bring that high level of vibration, focus and fun to each workday.
Our core team needs support. We are a small but brilliant group and we need someone who can truly be a human Swiss Army Knife--someone who can do a multitude of things as needed. The ability to flex and flow is essential. No two days are alike here and it's never a dull moment! Our office spaces are in a home in the Larchmont area, so it's casual, intimate, and very bright and cheerful.
You will work directly with everyone, and be mentored by executives who care, including the CEO/Founder. We all wear multiple hats on any given day, and no job is too small for any WRiTE BRAiN staffer. The CEO just loaded and ran the dishwasher this morning.

Our group is diverse and we all have different leadership styles, you should be flexible and open to working with different people.

We are looking for someone who has a passion for education, marketing, business (or all three) who can help us bring our product and services to the next level by providing the support needed to allow us to engage with our new, old and potential audiences. For educators, it's an in-depth & standards aligned literacy course in the art of children's book authoring, where students K-12 write thoughtfully crafted storybooks and are published in the process. For parents, it's an opportunity to witness the evolution of your childs expression, imagination, and unique voice. For kids of all ages, it's a fun, self-esteem-boosting activity resulting in a published hardcover and digital copies of their very own stories.

Qualifications:
VALID TRANSPORTATION IS VITAL!
Ability to communicate to and with educators in afterschool and in school communities about a holistic approach to learning, education issues and platforms and have had some hands-on teaching experience preferred (volunteering, afterschool, internships, work-study, tutoring or through college programming).
Prepare reports, presentations, operational documents, and correspondence containing descriptive, analytical, and evaluative content related to business, marketing, and educational content subject to review and editing by higher-level staff members
Knowledge of proper business English, punctuation, spelling, and grammatical usage
Candidate should be very familiar and comfortable with social media platforms such as: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vimeo, the Buffer App and YouTube
Effectively utilize the capabilities and functions of standard office software applications such as data management, spreadsheets, presentations, and word processing in completing assigned projects
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills required
Must know how to close a garbage bag and take it to the bin
